Blake's Eagle Court of Honor

 

 Tonight was Blake's Eagle Scout Court of Honor. Landon Bellum, Sean Pooley, and Matt Smith also received their Eagle Award tonight. Landon, Sean, and Blake grew up together, and Matt became part of our ward a year and half ago when the Woodlands Ward was dissolved and we became part of the Castle Rock Ward. Each of the boys had a display of their Eagle project and some of their scouting awards through the years.

 

 

 I made this banner for Blake when he was a cub scout to keep all his patches and awards on.

 

 

 Mom's get the privilege of pinning the Eagle Badge on their scout.

 

 

 The Dad gets to present the Eagle scarf,

 

 

 and ties it onto his son.

 

 

 Each of the scout's parents get an Eagle Pin,

 

 

 followed by hugs and congratulations.

 

 

 We are proud of you, Blake! What a great accomplishment!

 

 

Landon, Matt, Sean, and Blake take the Eagle challenge and are now officially Eagle Scouts. 

 

 

 

 

 

 Blake gave his mentor pin to Russell Blanch, who helped so much with Blake's Eagle project. He was also the Bishop when Blake became a priest, and he has been a big influence on Blake. 
 

 

 It was fun to see Bob Hall. He is a big scouter and has had a strong influence on many, many boys. He is in the other ward now and we don't see him often. He is getting older and uses a walker. He was a military man and made the boys behave, he was always reminding them to tuck in their shirts and to look sharp!

 

 

 

 Bruce Olson also had a big impact on Blake's scouting experience. He loves the outdoors and took the scouts on many camping and hiking trips. Bruce put together a slide show of some of their trips, it was really fun to watch.

 

 

 Bill Ennis was the boys scoutmaster for over 5 years. He is the reason they are getting their Eagle awards. He took them on some kind of outdoor excursion almost every month. Two years ago his family moved to South Carolina and it means so much that he came back to celebrate with us.

 

 

I have a picture of Blake with Bill back when he was getting one of his first Boy Scout Awards, and I wanted a picture of them together now that he has earned the highest scouting award. 

 

 

 Ryan has some great brothers to follow, there are now 4 Palmer Eagle Scouts, someday there will be 5!

 

 

I wanted to get a family picture of all of us, but Wade had to get back to work as soon as the program was over. Britta went to serve cake, so Landon, Megan, and Dagny were it. Landon was excited to sit in the Eagle's Nest, a special section reserved for those who have attained the rank of Eagle Scout. Wade was busy taking pictures, he could have sat there too.





We had these cakes for refreshments. One was chocolate with chocolate filling and one was white with strawberry filling. It is so neat they can put a picture on a cake!

A lot of people came and it was a special night.
