Grandkids Random Fun

Dagny has lost another one of her front teeth! She said it went down the drain in the bathroom sink at home and so she had to write a note to the tooth fairy.

I think little kids are so cute when they are missing their front teeth! There is just something so charming about a big smile and no teeth.

One more picture just because she is so dang cute!

My kitchen help. We make pancakes for breakfast quite often and they love to help. They especially like to crack the eggs and then to stir when all the ingredients have been added to the bowl. Oh and of course and they like to flip the pancakes when the first side is done.

All ready to go play in the snow. One problem, we don't have any snow. She was just pretending. I would think she would be cooking in all that gear in the house, but she threw pretend snowballs and made snow angels on the carpet.

She wanted lots of bubbles. She poured the bubble mix in herself and she got what she wanted.

Megan did Dagny's hair one Sunday before they came over for dinner. SO Cute!! I definitely need to learn how to curl with a wand and make ringlets like these.

The front view, and

the side view. Dagny has thick hair with lots of body. Lucky girl!

Ms. Addler has a lot of fun events on the calendar. They have had popcorn story time, ice cream story time, hat day, pajama day, fancy day, and today is beach day. Delwyn remembered this big umbrella that we have and he got it out for her. She staked out a spot in the classroom with her beach towel, put on her flip flops and sunglasses, and grabbed her water bottle for morning meeting on the beach!

Everlee is growing! Kimberlea will be back to work next week and then I will have this sweet girl four times a week. I'm looking forward to some baby time!

I've been thinking of fun things for Lincoln to practice his writing. Today I told him how to spell Denya and Britta's names and he wrote them on the white board. He did a great job!

Dagny has been doing a unit on things that sink or float. Part of today's experiment was to see if a banana peel would sink or float. I guessed sink and I was wrong!! I was quite surprised! The things you learn in Kindergarten science.

Goofing off. These two are best friends and do everything together.

Play doh time making sandwiches.

I was in the kitchen making dinner and these two decided to make themselves into zombies using markers!! AGHHHHH!!! But I must admit they did a pretty good job, scars and all, and the way they outlined their eyes--little artists at work. Landon wasn't mad, took them home and gave them a bath. The green was pretty hard to get off and the next morning they still had a little bit around the edges of their faces. Kids!

Calista is becoming Dagny's shadow. She follows her everywhere and wants to do whatever Dagny is doing.

Quite often Calista will get Dagny by the hand and take her downstairs to play with her, show her something, or when she wants Dagny to turn on the TV for her. Dagny is really good to Calista. This particular day Dagny was doing some schoolwork and Calista wanted to sit by her in the chair.

Calista LOVES books and Lincoln tells her the stories. Of course he's too young to read, but he remembers to story if he's heard the book or else he tells her about the pictures.

I don't know why Dagny was sitting on Lincoln's lap, but how cute is this???

Calista loves to go outside. Delwyn was home one day and suggested we take the kids to the park. There were so many people at the Red Park, so we went to Castle Rock Elementary. I wasn't sure Calista could swing on the big swings, but she did and she loved it.

Everlee has dark eyes and looks good in dark, bright colors. She is a happy, easy-going baby.

Dagny pretends to be a cat quite often. She begged and begged to give herself a cat nose and some whiskers, so I finally let her. I kept an eagle eye on her after the zombie episode to make sure she didn't go overboard. She actually did a pretty good job for a 6 year old!

Spring Grandkid Fun Random Things

Everyone loves Everlee! Who could resist such a cute baby? It's nice to have help feeding and taking care of her.

I'm so happy that the cousins are growing up together. My kids only saw their cousins once or twice a year.

Dagny's kindergarten class made bird feeders. They used a toliet paper roll covered with peanut butter and then rolled in bird seed. They were so excited to hang them up outside.

Lincoln is always saying, "Everlee is so cute!" He likes talking to her and is always so gentle.

One day I put Everlee in the corner of the chair so I could help Dagny do some school work, and Lincoln jumped right in and wanted to sit by her. It was so sweet!

Lucky Everlee to have so many cousins to talk to her and play with her.

Lincoln and Calista don't always get along. She bit Lincoln once and he just can't forget about it. He's always worried she is going to bite him if she gets close to him. They also fight over the same toy frequently, so it was exciting to see them play ball together, laughing and smiling.

A nice spring day, so Dagny wanted to soak up some sun.

Lincoln wanted to feed Everlee one day. He's so sweet with her, always saying, "Cute Everlee," and talking to her so she will smile.

Lincoln is loving the legos these days. He's always building something and coming to show me.

Nothing like a sister! They are going to be best friends in another year or two. Calista loves Everlee, always touching her, showing her toys, talking to her, and wanting to hold her.

Babies are like magnets, they draw people to them. Feeding babies is fun, and Dagny helps occasionally.

This is a daily occurrence around here. Dagny loves talking and playing with Everlee. Cousins are fun, baby cousins are extra sweet. I love that the cousins are growing up together and see each other often.

I was getting out the Easter decorations and Dagny found these bunny ears. They've been wearing them every day.

Lincoln loves cats! He was excited about his new shirt and we took a picture for Denya because she loves cats too.

Lincoln is getting pretty good at writing his name! He's doing some zen Lincoln yoga to calm down.

Lincoln has been loving sidewalk chalk lately and is always begging to go outside and draw. This is Lincoln and his Mom playing beach ball. Love it!

This girl is heading into the homestretch of kindergarten! She has always been good at writing and drawing, and she can spell Palmer now too!

Sleeping kids have a special sweetness to them. When Lincoln has a nap, he's out for 3 hours. If you try to wake him up before that, you will not be successful. He is a deep sleeper for sure. He doesn't nap regularly, but every now and then he falls asleep on the couch.

Spring Break

We had a quiet spring break, but I don't think they kids cared too much. They are just happy to play every day. Melissa's Dad is here for a visit, so we didn't get together, we just did our own things. We got so much snow that it took most of the week to melt. We played outside a couple of times. The Colorado sunshine is bright and Dagny could hardly see. We need to find the sunglasses!!

There was a layer of ice under the snow, so jumping on the trampoline was impossible, they would just fall down. The snow was really wet and heavy and made the tramp really saggy.

Lincoln sat on the little retaining wall for the flower bed and the snow had drifted so much he could just lay back in the snow.

Climbing in the snow. It was pretty steep, and walking up was challenging.

The kids were walking along on what they thought was the retaining wall, when

one of Dagny's feet went into the snow on the side of the wall and she was stuck! I thought she was just pretending when she called out for help, but the snow was deep enough she couldn't pull her leg out. She was scared for a minute until I pulled her out. Then her boot came off her foot and was stuck in the snow. We dug her boot out, got it back on her foot, and she was back to playing in no time, but she was pretty careful where she walked after that.

A snow cake with one candle! Made using the sandbox bucket for a mold. They said it was my birthday and sang "Happy Birthday" to me and told me to blow out the candle. Cute!

Lincoln has really played with the legos a lot lately. He is always building something and coming to give it to me. Today he had a train full of people and was making a house for them to live in.

Dagny has always enjoyed puzzles and now she can do the 48 piece ones all by herself! She's so proud!

Lincoln is pretty good at the 24 piece ones. Sometimes he needs a little help.

He was loving the sun glasses today.

Such cute smiles, I couldn't help taking a bunch of pictures!

Delwyn has been cleaning the garage and found this train that belonged to Austin. He has been wanting to set it up and play with the kids. Today was the day!

They are a little too young to operate the train by themselves, but they had fun pressing the button to start it and watching it go around the track.

Delwyn also found some Lincoln logs and thought it would be fun to let Lincoln play with something that has the same name. Lincoln is quite the builder--maybe he will be an engineer like Grandpa!
