This year the Collins Reunion is at Rock Creek, a campground in Ashley National Forest. There is a little store with snacks, fishing supplies, medication, sunscreen, etc. We checked in and got the key to our cabin.
We stayed in a rustic cabin that had electricity and a fridge, but no running water. There is a port-a-potty right outside each cabin. Our cabin had two beds and a loft. Ryan stayed in the loft.
Syrett was happy to see us and had lots of stories to tell us. All of Susan's family went on a cruise during Spring Break, so he told us all about swimming and how fun it was to go down a big slide. He also told us about golfing and eating ice cream.
The Upper Stillwater Dam is overflowing, so we drove up the mountain about a mile to see it. Aleice drove a load of kids in the back of Steven's truck.
It was beautiful!
Britta gave Harper a ride on her shoulders.
A perfect spot for a family picture.
The kids were joking about diving in. We stuck our fingers in and it was ice cold! We shouldn't be surprised, it is snow melt off the mountains.
The scenery is beautiful! This picture was taken to the side of the dam.
This is one of the side views.
Grandma wanted to get a picture of her grandkids and great grandkids. Some of them were hiking around the dam and missed being in the picture.
Harper really liked Britta!
The kids went wading in the water at the top of the dam. It was so cold they could only stay in a for a few minutes.
Zane and Ryan walked out a little deeper. I bet their toes are numb!
Whitney and Lauren (and everyone else) loved holding the babies. Ellie is almost 2 months old and Raigen is 3 weeks. It sure would have been fun to have Lincoln here too. These three babies were born within a month of each other.
Some basketball fun.
There is always good food at the reunion. Each of the five kids and their families take a meal, and everyone brings a treat to share. Scott and Shane grilled chicken and it was so good!
Evan made pancakes and Troy scrambled some eggs.
Clay and Layce cooked hamburgers and hot dogs.
Greyson, 16 months old, was always happy!
Syrett and Harper drove the jeep so much, they had to charge the battery again.
Vanessa is such a good mom to take Greyson on the slide. It was quite tall and steep, so he couldn't quite do it on his own.
Grandma planned a Bingo game with prizes.
Susan and Vanessa want to win, so they are playing multiple cards.
Wayden and Kamren can't wait to win a prize!
Harper won this glowing wand!
Justin's prize was a water squirter. Watch out!

Britta gets some snuggle time with Raigen.
Britta, Ryan, and I hiked around the campground. This river was behind us.
There were lots of logs and rocks to climb on.
I can see why they named this place Rock Creek!
It was really beautiful, but Britta and Ryan think the Colorado mountains are prettier. Our campground had a lot of dust, Utah is quite dry compared to Colorado, so maybe the moisture keeps the dust down in our mountains.
Britta found a white columbine! The columbine is Colorado's state flower. We have seen purple, yellow, and raspberry colored columbine, but we haven't ever seen a white one. We know we aren't supposed to pick the flowers, but Britta couldn't resist. The plant was so small she couldn't get down close for a picture.
I'm so thankful for my family and I love these reunions! We had a great time!
