Wade's Kids Spend the Night Round 2

Kimberlea's aunt passed away, so she and Wade went to Kansas for the funeral. We kept the kids since they didn't know her, it's such a long drive, and funerals can be hard for kids.

These girls LOVE to swing! They can swing for a solid hour. Everlee learned how to pump last fall, and she is in heaven.

The swing rocked Axel to sleep. It was 5 pm and I let him sleep for half an hour. He was just so, so cute sleeping in the swing.

He was not quite so cute at 10 pm when he was still wide awake, but who can resist that cuge face?

Calista and Everlee wanted to make jello. An interesting choice. I don't make jello very often anymore, but it's so easy, so why not?

Of course you have to have a little taste test after it's stirred up before putting it in the fridge.

Time for the finished product! Calista put bananas in hers and Everlee wanted strawberries.

They played house out on the front porch. They have such great imaginations and are so good with their baby dolls.

It was night time in their game, and they had a pretend nap.

Everlee has been obsessed with playing with two dolls lately and loves to put them in the walker. I just love 4-year olds! She is good at communicating and loves to tell me all about everything, and she doesn't mind playing by herself when Calista is at school. She's truly a gem!

Wade's Birthday

For his birthday, Wade wanted to make a cobbler in the dutch oven. He came over, got things set up, and started cooking! He's making peach pineapple and it smelled soooo good!

Baked to perfection!

The cobbler was so hot, we thought it might melt the candles, so into the ice cream they go!

We always give Wade the same thing every year...a Home Depot gift card! Rather boring, but he loves it and uses it. He's always got a project going on.

He had to show off his shirt, he's a legend indeed!

This tells you how good it was--only one serving left! Why do things cooked outside always taste so much better?? Thanks, Wade, for the extra yummy dessert!

Wade is good at building things, home repair/upkeep projects, and is good at using his hands. He build lots of legos for his kids, plays video games with them, and reads them a chapter from a book every night for a bedtime story. He's one of the best! Hope you had a great birthday!
