This week is Spring Break. We wanted to go to Washington Park in downtown Denver. I have never been there, the Paynes took the kids several years ago when we were in Peru picking up Wade from his misson. There is a little lake in the middle of the park and you can rent canoes and paddleboats. There are 3 miles of trails and you can rent different kinds of bikes, the kids call them bus cycles. They have 2 bench seats, a canopy top, and pedals. They also have bicycles built for two. We looked it up online, and it said open "weather permitting." It was a nice day and we were very disappointed when we got there and it was closed. It is a seasonal business and only open during the summer. We were grumpy for a few minutes and then decided to go bowling instead. Britta went first.
Ryan was up next.
Look at that style!
Blake is hoping for a strike!
While waiting for their turn, Blake and Britta posed for a picture. Britta says she gets asked quite often at school if she and Blake are twins. I didn't think they looked that much alike, but in this picture I can see why people might say that.
We had fun waiting for our turns to bowl.
We paid for an hour and weren't quite able to finish our second game. Ryan won the first game, and I won the second game. Silly Blake didn't want bumpers, so his score was low. Of course we had to tease him about that. We aren't the best bowlers, but we always have fun!
