Maddie and Millie Play Basketball

Maddie is playing basketball for the first time and she is so excited!! After watching Claire and Millie for a few years, it is finally her turn!

Her team is the Fire Hawks.

It is so much fun to watch kids play when they are first learning a new sport and learning all the rules. The score is pretty low, but they don't care and just have the best time.

I didn't realize I didn't take any pictures during an acutal game, just when they were warming up. She loved to run up and down the court and always had the biggest smile on her face. Go Maddie!

 

I guess I was really into the games this season, as all of Millie's pictures are of warming up as as well.

 Millie is a little shy, so it surprises me that she can be a little aggressive when it comes to basketball. She's not afraid to get the ball and follows the action instead of hanging back. Great season Millie!

Shanna's Birthday

Look at this beautiful cake!!  My birthday was on Sunday and it was really cold! We got about 5 inches of snow Friday and Saturday and then it got bitter cold! The high for today was only about 10 degrees and it's going to be below zero tonight. It doesn't usually get this cold. I thought maybe church would be cancelled, but it wasn't. We cancelled Sunday dinner because we didn't want anyone driving home on icy roads when it's this cold. 

But Megan wasn't about to let my birthday slip by, she is always so thoughtful. They came over and brought this delicious cake she got from Whole Foods. It's a chantilly cake with fresh berries inside the layers. It tasted as good as it looked!

I made a wish and blew out the candles! I felt loved!

Britta has learned how to crochet and she made these mittens for me! She taught herself and I'm so proud of her! They are so soft and warm! My hands are always cold and I'm going to love these for driving. 

The Friday after my birthday, these friends and I went to lunch at La Loma. I love this place! Mexican food is probably my favorite. They all gave me presents and I felt very spoiled! Leanne gave me some foamy soap, Janae gave me a blue fleece blanket, Andrea brought me a cupcake, Amy paid for my lunch, and 

Nancy gave me this towel! It's so cute and looks like a like of work to give away to someone. I have some of the best friends and this tradition we have of going to lunch for birthdays is so much fun!

The next Sunday the weather had greatly improved and Wade and Kimberlea brought this cake for my birthday. It was a caramel cake with caramel frosting with chopped Caramello candy bars on top. I love caramel and it was so tasty!

The kids love birthdays and it was fun to get a picture with them. Melissa and Maddie are sick and weren't here.

Wade and Kimberlea gave me this cute sign and I loved it.

Glenda sent me these cute bracelets! She had some when we went to Glenwood Springs and I raved about how cute they were and now I have some!

My birthday lasted all week and I felt very loved! I talked to Denya, Britta, and Ryan on my birthday too. I have a great life with an amazing family and friends! I am blessed indeed!

Everlee's Birthday

Everlee is officially 4 years old! We usually celebrate birthdays at Grandma's on the Sunday after they occur, but Everlee's birthday is today! Wade and Kimberlea asked her what she wanted for her birthday dinner and she said, "Steak and shrimp!" Interesting choices for a kid, but hey, I'll never turn down steak. We were happy to make her requests and Wade and Kimberlea bought her a little shrimp ring to have all to herself.

She had some party balloons at home and brought them over here to make it more festive.

Kimberlea gave me this picture of the girls celebrating at home this morning. These Rainbocorn Kittycorn surprises are a popular toy right now. It's an egg shaped container with 10 surprises inside, including a cuddly stuffed kitty, a smaller egg with a little animal of some kind inside it, stickers, and more. Calista got one for her birthday and Everlee was so excited to have her own now!

Wade and Kimberlea made her an Anna (from Frozen) cake. She was quite beautiful with glittery frosting and all the girls thought it was so beautiful.

Time for presents! The best part of a birthday!

We gave her this Minnie Mouse cat in a back pack vet kit that comes with all the doctor tools. Everlee has loved Minnie Mouse for a long time! She also likes to play house with dolls, play school, and go to the library. She loves to cut with scissors and glue little scraps of paper. She likes corndogs and goulash. She has become quite talkative and chatters to me all day. We love you Everlee!
