September Birthdays

Time for the September birthdays.
Grandma Collins likes to spoil him on his birthday! Thanks so much!

Are you having cake?

I don't think that she has anything to make a wish for.
She has basically everything. Yes, she is spoiled!

Something for hair.

Something to share.

Something to wear.

Tamara decorated Britta's room. She was surprised!

Fall Jetsking

It is September 24th in Colorado and we are going jet skiing.  It's one of Austin and Melissa's favorite things to do and they were really hoping we could make it out to the lake.  Since it is on the cool side today, about 75 degrees, there aren't very many people on the reservior, which makes it a lot more fun.  The water is pretty smooth.

Austin stuck in a toe. Burrr.... I think we are a little crazy!

Claire just loved to walk and play in the sand.

Zipping across the water. See the ponytail fly.

More crazies in the water.  The kids had a few races.  The red jet ski always seemed to win, not surprising since it is bigger.  They claimed they gave the yellow jet ski a seven second head start, and still won.

We prefer to stay dry. Me and my pal on the beach, dressed appropriately for September in Colorado.

They look happy now, but just wait a few minutes. A big suprise--Blake dumped them all!   The water was cold and they were all shivering.  After a few minutes of huddling in towels to warm up, they were back for more--a litte cold water doesn't stop them!

Claire says, "I can't wait! I'm ready for a turn!"

Heading back to the dock.  Good-bye Chatfield until next smmer!

Palmer Family Reunion 2012

This is the third year for the Palmer reunion.  It is held on Labor Day weekend.  It rained a little the first night, otherwise the weather was great.
One thing about this renuion is that they always try to have a craft  for everyone to do.  Cheryl taught us to make bracelets with parachute cord.  They were a big hit with everyone, the kids and the adults.   We also made little lanterns (with candles). We are glad that Karalee and Cheryl are so creative.

Here is Wade and Kimberlea with their lanterns. You take a tin can, carefully use a hammer to make holes in a pattern of your own design, and then spray paint your can.  Put a battery operated votive candle inside so the light comes out of the holes. Pretty cool!

Two sisters with their lamps. It's a heart shape!

A load of cousins!

Each family has to help preare one meal. Wade loves to chop, dice and cook!  So this assignment makes him happy.

Keri is one of the main planners for the reunion.  She plans the menu and buys all the food. We are thankful that she takes on so much effort since we all have a great time.

How many men does it take to deep fry a turkey?  At least four, it looks like.  One to dunk the turkey, and three to give advice!  It tasted delicious, so I guess they figured it out.

Now we (meaning the Palmer girls) love to play games!

The food line with lots of dutch ovens full of great tasting food!

Hungry campers.

Blake wants to serve some dessert--mint brownies anyone?

Aleah is such a cutie, I had to snap this picture.

Lots of girl cousins close to the same age make for a good time.

Denya and Aubree have some girl time.

Ryker had a great time on his bike.

This year we had a raffle to raise money to help pay for expenses.  Everyone brought a few items to donate.  Cael and Cameron show off their raffle tickets!  They were hoping to win something good.

The raffle items were set out for everyone to see.  Lots of good stuff!

Looks like auctioneers!  Karalee held up the items and Keri called out the numbers.

Wade scored an alarm clock in the raffle. He said that he needed one

Blake won this pitcher that he later traded for a hot dog cooker.  It's just like a toaster for hot dogs--sounds like an interesting device!

Denya entertaining the crowd during a talent show.

This is Blake's friend. As he was exploring down by the old farmhouse, he came across this doll head that had seen much better days. He became quite the joker walking around, sneaking up, and scaring people. He named it Cindy and it became a hit. The fact that Blake is quite a joker is known by all.
