Landon and Megan Design a Denim Quilt

The family that sews together, grows together.
Megan and Landon are sewing quilt blocks to make their picnic quilt.  They designed their own pattern so it is very unique. Wait until you see the finished product. It is great!

Here they are tying the quilt. See how pretty. They knocked this out in no time.

The finished product. Pretty in pink with varying patterns.

Now it's ready for many outdoor activities and snuggling. It is so soft!
I think they enjoyed this project.

Colorado Renaissance Festival

Since Landon and Megan are here, we decided to go to the Renaissance Festival.

The whole crew (without the photographer - Shanna).

There were a lot of neat shows to watch. What's he going to do with that fire?

You guessed it - in the mouth.

What's he going to do wiith that huge screwdriver?

Down the throat. Pretty amazing but a little gross.

Frozen treats. That's we like like to put in our mouths.  They were a frozen icee in an orange peel. Yum!  They tasted so good on a hot day.

 There were some exotic cats.

Denya was excited about the white tiger.

And a joust. This was the good guy.

 This is the bad guy.

 Here they go!

Landon and Megan find a slow mode of transportation.

The girls have found their knight in shining armour!

Ryan thought a sword fight would be fun!  Better watch out--he's a lot bigger than you are!

It was fun!

2012 Collins Family Reunion

We had the Collins Reunion at LC Ranch in Altamont in July.  We didn't have a reunion last year, and I really missed not getting together.  I love all the flowers!

Everyone loved to hold Syrett!  Britta had to wait for her turn and she wouldn't give him up once she got him.  He is very sweet, so I don't blame her for wanting a long turn.

Syrett got lots of love from Grandma!

Troy's birthday was on Saturday--the big 40!  I thought the cake was too cute to eat!

The kids all had fun on the canoes, even though the water was quite mossy.  It's always fun to spend time with the cousins.

Two of my favorite boys!  I thought Blake was quite brave to be standing up in that tippy canoe!

Britta and Whitney liked the kayaks more than the canoes, maybe because they aren't so tippy.

Clay and Layce brought this fun game.  You throw balls and try to get them to wind around the colored bars.  Each colored bar is worth a different amount of points.  The first person to get 30 points wins.  Ryan enjoyed playing with Clay.

The younger kids love the water activities.

Go Ryan!

Ryan and Brooklyn show us their moves on Just Dance.  They have a lot of rhythm.

Here we are playing games, one of our favorite things to do.  We played Catch Phrase, and did a lot of laughing.

Even the men like to sit around and visit.  Another year of good food, fun games, and lots of laughing the talking.  I love my family!

Wave Pool in Price, Utah

When we were talking about going to Utah for the family reunion, something made Denya remember the Wave Pool.  It's in Price, about an hour and a half drive from Roosevelt.  We haven't been for several years and were reminiscing about how much fun it is.  Waves come on for ten minutes, and then off for ten minutes.  A short alarm comes on to let you know the waves are starting.    I like to be in an inner tube and ride the waves.  You can aso just swim and float, or jump the waves.  Ryan and Britta don't remember going, so we decided to go to the reunion early and spend a day at the Wave Pool.  We invited the Collins family to join us.

Britta is relaxing in the pool and waiting for the waves to start.

Ryan liked sitting in his tube.

Blake and Justin were playing some sort of game.

Kamren loved the pool and was quite a dare devil.  Krystal had to keep a close eye on him.  He loved the waves!

Layce and Whitney ride some waves.

I tried to get a picture that showed the waves.

Kamren and Justin were pals!  We had a great day and I was so glad Denya remembered this fun pool!

Casa Bonita

After the Musem, Wade and Kimberlea really wanted to go to Casa Bonita.  They love that place!  The strolling musicians stopped right by our table to give us a serenade.

The cliff divers are always our favorites!  They climb so high and do such neat dives and somersaults
 into the water.

We were lucky and got a table by the pool, so we had a good view of the entertainment while we ate.

Britta and Leamarie look almost like sisters!

It was getting quite dark and late when we left, but we always take a picture outside by the fountain.  What a fun day we have had!

Visiting the Museum with Wade and Kimberlea

Kimberlea loves museums, and for part of their summer trip, we decided to go to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.  We bought a family membership, so now we can go all year!  Delwyn was excited to see that Lockheed donated money to the space exhibit.

This is part of the Mars exhibit that Lockheed contributed to.

Dad is always telling Denya, "You don't have to be a rocket scientist to do rocket science," which is just what this poster said. Delwyn loves math and science and hopes that some of his children will follow in his footsteps.  So far, no takers.  I had to get a picture of Denya with this board.

The Museum always has a traveling exhibit, and the featured exhibit right now is Snakes and Lizards  Denya would have no part of it.  This replica of an anaconda is so heavy, it took everyone and they could still barely lift it!

The boys made these paper lizard bracelets that were quite cute.

Ryan checked out all the snakes!

There was a display of some illegal items made from lizard skin and snake skin.  Kimberlea loves shoes, so we had to get a picture.

We finally convinced Denya to come into the snake exhibit, but the stuffed animals were are as far as she would go.  She absolutely refused to get close to the real ones!

Denya's favorite part of the museum was the Egyptian mummies.

There is so much to see at the museum, you can't do it all in one visit.  We walked through the dinosaur part really quickly.

Leamarie is here with Wade ande Kimberlea.  She and Britta are such good friends, and always pick up right where they left off, even though they only see each other once a year.

We also enjoyed the Gems and Minerals display.  Some of those gold nuggets were huge!
