Kimberlea loves museums, and for part of their summer trip, we decided to go to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. We bought a family membership, so now we can go all year! Delwyn was excited to see that Lockheed donated money to the space exhibit.
This is part of the Mars exhibit that Lockheed contributed to.
Dad is always telling Denya, "You don't have to be a rocket scientist to do rocket science," which is just what this poster said. Delwyn loves math and science and hopes that some of his children will follow in his footsteps. So far, no takers. I had to get a picture of Denya with this board.
The Museum always has a traveling exhibit, and the featured exhibit right now is Snakes and Lizards Denya would have no part of it. This replica of an anaconda is so heavy, it took everyone and they could still barely lift it!
The boys made these paper lizard bracelets that were quite cute.
Ryan checked out all the snakes!
There was a display of some illegal items made from lizard skin and snake skin. Kimberlea loves shoes, so we had to get a picture.
We finally convinced Denya to come into the snake exhibit, but the stuffed animals were are as far as she would go. She absolutely refused to get close to the real ones!
Denya's favorite part of the museum was the Egyptian mummies.
There is so much to see at the museum, you can't do it all in one visit. We walked through the dinosaur part really quickly.
Leamarie is here with Wade ande Kimberlea. She and Britta are such good friends, and always pick up right where they left off, even though they only see each other once a year.
We also enjoyed the Gems and Minerals display. Some of those gold nuggets were huge!
