Ryan is living at Oakridge again this year in apartment 13F. It has been renovated and is really nice! The floors are all hardwood, so he'll probably want to get a rug for the bedroom.
The beds are up high, which makes for some great storage space. Ryan was sad that he forgot his Colorado flag. It is big and takes up a good chunk of the wall. Next weekend is Labor Day and the Palmer reunion, so we can give it to him then.
The kitchen has new appliances and everything has been freshly painted. He even has a fancy kitchen faucet similar to my new one.
Ryan bought Tyler Beckman's contract during the summer and he is quite excited to be living with guys he knows instead of random strangers. I met Kyson today, I haven't met Giancarlo yet, and the other roommate will be Justin Gentry, who is from Castle Rock. He joined the marines and will be at boot camp until October and then he will be back in Logan. When we walked in the door, this puzzle was the first thing I saw and it definitely made me love these boys since I love to puzzle.
All that unpacking makes a guy tired!
Gordon and his family are camping this weekend, but we went to Hyrum to Pizza Plus without them because the food is amazing!! These breadsticks are probably better than the pizza! They are stuffed with cheese and come with homemade ranch dip which everyone but me loves.
We got a small meat lovers pizza because we wanted to have lots of room for the breadsticks!
For breakfast Ryan took me to a place called Herm's that has these giant cinnamon roll pancakes. They are cooked on a 12 inch pizza pan. So big!! Ryan ate half of his and I only ate a third of mine, but they were so, so, so delicious!!!
That's a lot of pancake!! But no worries, the leftovers will not be wasted!
Next on the agenda, a grocery run at Wal-Mart. And you can be certain that Ryan got the biggest box of fruit snacks he could find.
On Friday Britta and Kade drove to Logan. They are staying in the Porras's grandparents basement for a couple of months until they can get into married student housing. It is SO nice!! I had to take a few pictures. So roomy and comfortable. There are two bedrooms, and Britta invited me to stay with them, so I cancelled my hotel.
A dream bathroom! What an amazing place to get ready for the day!
The kitchen reminds me of a diner from the 60's. There is also a small kitchen table, but these bar stools are just so fun!

Denya came up on Saturday afternoon and we had stuffed crust pizza for dinner.

We discovered a pull down basketball game that was so much fun everyone had a turn.
It had an electronic scoreboard, but we couldn't figure out how to turn it on.

Ryan has such long arms he can almost tip it right in.
Then it was off to the creamery for Aggie ice cream! I can't believe we only went one time this trip. That's almost a crime!
I couldn't decide between the lemon custard and raspberry sherbet, picked the lemon and it was good. I had the huckleberry last year and I think it is my favorite flavor. I need to remember that. Britta had True Aggie Night, which is huckleberry ice cream with a raspberry swirl and white and dark chocolate. It was also very good.
Sunday tradition to take pictures when you're all dressed up. My flight is at 12:30 pm, so Denya and I are heading to the airport and I will miss church. Denya will make it back to Salt Lake in time for her ward.
The easiest way to the Porras's basement is through the patio door in the backyard, so we're counting this as standing by the front door.
It was super fun to help the kids get settled and to see where they will be living so I can picture it in my mind when they talk about. I'm thankful for a more normal school year and pray that it stays that way. Here's to lots of studying and good grades!
