Colorado Springs Color Run

Denya heard about the Color Run, a 5K for charity, and she talked Britta into running it with her.  The race is held in different locations throughout the US, and this one was in Fountain, just below Colorado Springs.  The entrance fee was $40 and the money goes to those who lost their homes this summer in the Waldo Canyon Fires.  As you run, colored chalk is thrown at you and by the end of the race, you are quite colorful!

Here's how they looked at the start... nice and clean...

Several thousand people were participating.  They go in waves.  Denya and Britta were in the third wave.  Lining up and getting ready to start.

The starting line.  This is not a timed race, it is just for fun.  They advertise you can walk, skip, cartwheel, crawl, or whatever!  Just make it to the finish line!

Spectators and fans. There weren't a lot of spectators, most people were participating as families.  Women were pushing strollers, and men had kids on their shoulders.  Ryan thought it looked fun and wished he was running.  Go Denya and Britta!

And they're off!

Ryan waits with his bag of colored chalk to throw on his favorite runners.

Puff.. Here she is--very purple!

At the end the runners all get together and all throw their chalk. It makes quite a cloud.

Dirty sisters at the end of the race.

Even their hair was very colorful!

They both finished in good spirits.

The final results.

Not sure that I want to let you in my car.  Good thing they warned us to bring towels to sit on!

Jet Sking with Landon and Megan

Landon and Megan ready to launch the craft.

If you are driving...I think I'll get off...

 Wait... I'm not on yet.

 Sailing away.

Who's the captain of the vessel?

Oh the posh, posh, traveling life. The traveling life for me...

The Beach Buddha!
As long as this guy sits on the beach, our jet skis run good. Do you want to rub his tummy?

My turn!

It's been a while but I think he remembers how.

Watch out! She's on the loose...

I think that he likes it, yes he does like it...

The beach bunch...

Landon and Megan Night at the Museum (Actually During the Day)

Since we bought a family pass to the Denver Museum of History and Science this summer, we decided to go for another visit, this time with Landon and Megan.  It is such a large museum that you can't see it all in one day. We went to the top of the Museum and there is a balcony with some tables.  You can look out over Washington Park and the pond.  You can also see the skyscrapers in the distance.  Pretty view, but quite hot, so we didn't stay out here very long.

Cute Couple!

This was a mind game in the Hall of Life.  You were supposed to concentrate on the ball and use your brain power to move the ball to your opponents side.  Britta won.

 Posing with the seals.

Ryan's favorite part of the museum is the dinosaurs.

A lady had a table set up with some hands on dinosaur bones.

Dinosaur heads varied greatly in size.

Britta fits right in with the Egyptian mummy display.   And that ends another fun day at the Museum!
