Megan wanted to try brining a turkey this year. She said it was a lot of work, she soaked it in a chicken broth/spice solution for 12 hours and she had to turn it every few hours. It looks fabulous--it could be on a cooking show! We were all excited to taste it!
Blake volunteered to take the first bite. His consensus--great! It tastes as good as it looks!

Megan was a little nervous about her turkey since she had never brined one before, so Delwyn made one as well. We had lots of turkey, but no complaints about that!
Megan's turkey was so good and moist, we told her she was going to be in charge of cooking it every year!

I am sure thankful for this bunch of people! Megan had to work at 1:00, so we ate at 11:30, which was a little early, but we decided we liked it. No one ate breakfast, so we were all pretty hungry.
Our usual tradition--everyone has three candy corn at their plate. During dinner we go around and take turns saying three things we are grateful for. Blake is thankful that we all get along so well, and so I am! Denya is thankful for her internship at BYU Publications and Graphics, she has learned so much there. Ryan is thankful to be in the marching band, Landon and Megan are thankful for their condo and their beautiful baby. This is Dagny's first Thanksgiving!

My favorite part of Thanksgiving-the pie! The kids love chocolate pudding pie, it's a requirement for our Thanksgiving dinner, Wade and Kimberlea brought coconut cream and pumpkin supreme from Village Inn, I made strawberry, and we tried something new--orange creme, which was really good!
Another advantage to eating early, more time for Bingo! And Wade was able to play for a while before heading to work at 4:00.
Blake likes to play three cards for three times the chance to win! You have to be fast to keep up with three cards.

Dagny helped Britta open her prizes. She needs some practice learning to open gifts since her birthday is only a month away.
No tricks trying to fool Denya into winning the corn nuts this year, Landon got them.
Blake won some car cleaning wipes. We had a great day reflecting on all we have to be thankful for and spending time together. We missed Austin and Melissa and girls--they are going to Austin, Texas to spend the holiday with Great Grandma Whitley.
The day after Thanksgiving, Kimberlea had a fun craft for us girls. She had bought a letter for each of us. The girls got the letter their name begins with, and I got a P for Palmer.
Kimberlea is making one for her parents, the Edwards.
First we covered the letter with twine. It took longer than we thought it would, but is turning out so cute!
Denya is ready to make the felt flowers for hers. Purple is her favorite color.
