We are always in charge of breakfast on the first morning. Britta and Kade mixed up the pancakes.
Then Kade was enlisted to make omelettes with Ryan and Delwyn. For the life of me, I just can't make omelettes, mine always
turn into scrambled eggs. BJ usually helps, but he had a chemo treatment yesterday and he's always pretty sick the next day. They are coming Sunday, I'm glad we'll get to see them.
His family camps a lot and he is a pro at this outdoor cooking. Just look at that perfect omelette!
It takes a long time to make omelettes for all the Palmers, and we finally got to taste the fruit of our labors. Of course these two were silly and tried to eat each other's food. I guess it tastes better on someone else's plate.
Kelli got this giant pool on Marketplace for free. The kids were so excited and wanted to fill it up right away. It literally took all day!! They didn't care and played in it while it was filling up.
I stuck my hand in and it was freezing cold! I wouldn't want most of my body in that pool, my teeth would be chattering. The kids didn't care, and every time I looked, someone was in it. It probably has a heater, I don't know if they hooked it up or maybe it isn't worth it for the couple of days we will be here.
Britta, Kade, Denya, and Ryan threw a football around quite a bit this weekend. Kade gave them some tips.
Go Denya!
Britta is learning to snap the ball. Being married to Kade, she'll become a football pro. I remember this being called hike the ball or hut. I will admit snap sounds better.

David and his boys went down to the creek and caught a couple of frogs. They seemed big to me for frogs living in the wild. Karalee wanted to hold it, I did not.

Denya always finds a cat to play with and love on whenever she comes to the farm. Cats make her so happy! This one belongs to Bryson and Trevyn.
Delwyn took the kids to the cemetery and they found the graves of Joseph and Maria Palmer, Delwyn's great grandparents. Britta was wondering how long the farm has been in the family and owned by Palmers. Blair has the original deed with a 1880 date on it, signed by Rutherford B. Hayes, who was the President of the United States at that time. He is having a frame built so he can display it. It would sure be interesting to read the history of the farm and what it was like when they first bought it.
Never too big on sit on your Mama's lap! Kaylee lives in Heber, Utah now with her boyfriend and she misses her mom, so taking advantage to get some loving.
Sitting around and talking. We have a lot to catch up on since the reunion was cancelled lasat year due to Covid. Kyler got married 15 months ago and it was fun to get to know Teiya. She's fun!
Relaxing and chatting! What the Palmers do best! (Besides cooking, they amazing cooks!)
Tammy is always working on an afghan, she gets a lot done!
Doug and his dinner bell. He tries to ring it every meal time but sometimes he forgets. It is really loud, in case you were wondering!
It wouldn't be the Palmer reunion without scones! Thanks to these girls for making them for us every year!
Scones are Denya's favorite food at the reunion. Enjoying one with is your sister makes it even better.
David had this game called Kubb, a Swedish game that's part horseshoes and part bowling. It's played by throwing big dowels at wooden blocks and there is a king in the middle. Britta played it on her mission, and
and Ryan has played it in Young Mens.
Denya has also played it with friends. Why have I never heard of it??
It's a team game, so Denya and Ryan vs Britta and Kade. They played several rounds and it looked pretty fun.
Karalee always has a craft for people to make,
this year it's these frogs made out of flower pots.
One of Brian's girls, Aleah I think, is ready to paint.
There are usually some card games, Phase 10 at the moment. Britnee keeps getting skippped.
Kim and Eric put Grandma's Swedish pancake recipe on a cutting board. This is a replica of her handwriting. How precious! There are 2 for the raffle and I would love to win one! But I didn't.
Someone brought this cap for the raffle. A wolf maybe? It's not a raccoon because it doesn't have rings on the tail. Blair tries it on. Is he hoping to win it?
Getting ready for the raffle!
Britta and Kade got the job of showing the items and drawing the winning ticket.
Britta did a good job of showing the items and entertaining us with her description of the items. Kelli was always fun, and Britta was just as good.
Then they traded places and Kade held up the items. He was hilarious!
They were too good of a team and I wouldn't be surprised if they are going to be in charge of raffling off the items forever more.
Jaimi won this ball with rubber strings on it. I think it might be called a koosh ball? Her dog Rosie loved it!
Debi won the mountain man hat!
She traded it to Dalen and he was very happy about it.
Denya and Ryan with some of their prizes. Looks like we're going to need to teach Ryan how to make Swedish pancakes.
I won a really soft blanket and two camping chairs! Plus a unicorn coloring book and a some little mermaid figures.
Britta and Kade won some fun prizes. They deserve it after being in charge. Britta was a little nervous people would think they rigged it, but no way to cheat. All the numbers are in a bucket and everyone watched her shake it up extra good and then choose a number. The Palmers are so easy going they wouldn't ever accuse her of being unfair. Yay for the newlyweds!
Denya found another cat at Blair's. She is definitely getting a lot of cat time this weekend.
Enjoying the morning air while waiting for breakfast. Kaylee tries out the mug and hot chocolate she won at the raffle last night.
Biscuits and gravy are Ryan's favorite meal the reunion. Thanks Maureen and Keri for making them for us every year.
Breakfast is served!
We try to head home before noon, it's a long drive, but so worth it. Family is everything!
