Homecoming

Ryan, Gavin Blanch, Piper Butler, and Savannah Schultz are friends in choir, and they are all going to Homecoming together. The girls were so sweet and ordered the flowers..

We all know how hard it is to pin on boutonnieres! Savannah's Mom has worked at a florist service before and is a pro, so she got the job. The red roses were really pretty!

There is a mesa right next to Piper's house and we were going to take pictures there, but we took a few outside first, and it was a good thing because it was super windy on the mesa.

It's so fun to see them dressed up! Such cute girls and handsome boys!

Ryan and Gavin have known each other since birth, and now they are all grown up. It's hard to believe they are seniors. Gavin doesn't usually like to go to dances, so I was happily surprised he was going. I love their smiles.

We always need a pose like this when doing formal dance pictures.

Good friends make such a difference in our lives.

The wind starting blowing hair every which way.  Strong hair spray needed for today!

These kids are going to have such a fun night, they are all so happy and laughing so much.

It is now a thing for boys to wear colorful socks and show them off! Nice flamingos Ryan!

Piper's Mom suggested getting a picture of us together. I better take advantage of every opportunity now that Ryan is a senior.

Piper's parents are hosting a sleepover after the dance. I'm sure they will stay up most of the night (if not all night) and then have sausage and pancakes for breakfast. Have a great time Ryan!!

Homecoming Parade

We love the DC Homecoming Parade! It's close to home, short, and sweet! This is our third year of coming. We drove to the Rec Center after Dagny's preschool and the kids played on the little playgound area for half an hour while we waited for the parade to start.

First up, the fire trucks. Lincoln loved them.

The band always plays such energizing music that gets your adrenaline flowing.

Percussion is still my favorite part even though Ryan isn't in the band anymore.

The theme for this year is "Under DC",

so there were lots of water related entries in the parade.

These mermaids were Dagny's favorite part of the parade.

Lots of fun with these pirates.

And even more pirates.

Balloons are always festive and add to the party atmosphere.

Our favorite Elementary school!

Future huskies! So fun to see them in the parade.

Another fun elementary school participates in the parade.

The parade lasted for about 20 minutes and the kids got a lot of candy. We loved every minute of it.

Powder Puff Volleyball

As part of homecoming spirit week, there is a Powder Puff Volleyball game. Ryan was on a team this year and he had so much fun he said he wished he had participated in previous years. He is number 4.

Ryan is so tall, he is perfect for the middle front spot where he can spike the ball. He is the one with the M on his back.

Time for a team pep talk.

Waiting for his turn to go back in and cheering for his team while he waits.

It was a double elimination tournament and Ryan's team was out after 2 games.

Congratulating the other team. What a fun event!
