The Cherry Creek Bike Trail starts at Confluence Park in downtown Denver and goes for 40 miles all the way to Franktown. There are several spots you can get on the trail. Last summer we got on in two different spots and biked for about 8 miles. I don't know if I could do the whole 40 miles, that's a lot of biking! I have been wanting to see the beginning of the trail, so Britta and I went up there this morning.
The Platte River runs through Denver and the bike trail is right next to it.
There are several spots where there is a little waterfall.
It is a beautiful place, and it's hard to believe you are in the middle of a big city.
There is a lot of artwork on the walls. We especially liked this one, so we stopped for some pictures.
There were quite a few people on the trail, walkers, joggers, bikers, and workers. We asked someone to take a picture of us together.
The trail was mostly flat, which makes for nice, easy, fun riding. It is the perfect day for a bike ride, it's about 70 degrees and a little cloudy.

I am so glad to have a biking buddy!
We saw this beautiful tree covered with white blossoms. We have had a strange spring, cool and lots of rain Usually by now the blossoms have come and gone.
Britta wanted to climb the tree. There was a perfect spot for sitting and a big leaf was right on top of her head, almost like a hat.
We biked for just over an hour and then headed home. It was getting really cloudy and by the time we got home it was raining hard. We had to move fast to get the bikes off the rack and into the garage. We didn't want them to get soaked. We had a fun ride and hope to have many more before summer's end.
