Our room number for this amazing cruise!
Not a very good picture, but it's the only one I took of our room. Mom stayed with us in the twin bed against the wall. In the rooms where there were only 2 people, that bed was a couch. They were pretty comfortable rooms with quite a bit of space to put your clothes in closets and drawers.
Look at my stylin' Mom!! She always gets her hair done and styled each week, but here on the cruise she had to wash and do her own hair. By the end of the week she was wearing this baseball cap. She looks so young and in style!! We all wanted to take a picture because some of our family members claim they have never seen her with her hair not done. She's just adorable!!
We debark the ship relatively early in the morning. The passengers leave in groups according to numbers we selected yesterday according to how early our return flight is. We were in group 18. After breakfast we got our carry on bags from our rooms and waited in some seating areas for our group to be called.
Looking out at Miami from the seating area. It was a gray, wet day, pouring rain.
These streaks on the window are rivulets of water running down.
We debarked about 9:30 am. The rest of the family is going on a shuttle to Ft. Lauderdale and they have a flight at 3:30 back to Salt Lake. We hard a hard time finding a flight back to Denver, so Delwyn and I are staying in Miami and have a 7:30 am flight home.
We had rented a car for the day and waited in the rain for a shuttle to take us to the rental car agency. The shuttle was packed full, but the driver kept piling people in! We were the final people to get in the van and I had to sit on Delwyn's lap because there was only one seat left. Good thing it was only a short 15 minute drive!
We had planned to drive through the Everglades or there are lots of parks near the water's edge we could have walked around, but it poured rain all day, so we just stayed at the hotel, caught up on social media since we didn't have wi-fi all week, went to Wal-Mart, drove to the airport so we would know where it is since we are leaving the hotel at 4:30 am, and went to dinner at a Mexican place. It was a nice, relaxing day.
Colorado had two snow storms while we were gone, one big and one small. Ryan had a snow day with no school and spent a lot of time shoveling. It was a good time to be on a cruise and the beach!
Thank you, Mom, for the trip of a lifetime!! I loved every minute!!
