After 5 long years of learning and lots of homework, Denya is graduating from BYU!! She is an English graduate with an editing minor. She has always loved reading, writing, and words. She was always reading when she was a girl, while eating, in bed, and even when she was brushing her teeth! In 6th grade she won a reading contest, reading over 10,000 pages! She is also good with words. She was always writing stories and has a good imagination. She writes good talks and has written some great blog posts at her student job.
She is applying for jobs in the Provo/Salt Lake area. She loves Utah and would like to stay there. Her dream job would be something that she can write a little and also edit.
We are proud parents!
Ryan came with us. Britta is taking the ACT test and some other standardized tests and felt it would be too hard to make up, so she stayed at home.
I sure love this daughter of mine! She is like a best friend! We love to do anything together, swim, bike ride, watch movies,do jigsaw puzzles, shop, and eat, to name a few.
We are a proud, happy family.

The first part of graduation was Thursday afternoon at 4:00 pm. in the Marriott Center. There are almost 6,000 students graduating!! We had to be in our seats by 3:15. The procession started at 3:30. I love the Pomp and Circumstance music at graduation. It is so powerful and majestic, I get a little teary thinking of what that music represents. It is the end of a chapter of life and the beginning of a something new.
After the Commencement Exercises we had dinner at La Dolche Vita, Denya's favorite restaurant. Then we went back to campus and to take more pictures.
Each corner of the University has signs and little mottoes, and we wanted to take some pictures by them.
What an exhilarating feeling to graduate! The whole world is at your fingertips!
I loved all the beautiful flowers and trees! We left 4 or 5 inches of snow on our lawn, and flowers are still just a thought for those of us who live in Colorado!
Most of Denya's classes were in the Joseph F. Smith Building.
There is a courtyard in the front of the building with this fountain. It looks like a relaxing place to spend a few minutes after busy classes.
This past year Denya has had a student job with the Publications and Graphics Department doing editing. They publish all the programs for different events. BYU Vocal Point, a men's acapella group, did a CD of Christmas music. Denya edited the CD cover, and her name was on it where the credits are listed! She gave Delwyn copy for Christmas.
The sun was shining on the sign above the door, so you can't see it very well. It says, "Publications and Graphics".
Friday morning at 8:00 am was the convocation part of graduation. Just under 600 students are graduating in the College of Humanities. Denya received her diploma!

Denya had a new dress for graduation. I love the color--it is so nice and springy.
Graduation is big accomplishment, many years of hard work and dedication. Denya has loved every minute at BYU, and she will look back on her college years as one of the best times in her life. I am so proud of Denya for all her efforts to achieve this goal and better herself. An exciting future is waiting!
