Today we are celebrating Melissa! We love her so much and are so glad she is part of our family. The kids love birthdays, cake, and candles, and they all wanted to be near the action. This white cake with Danish Dessert and strawberries is her favorite cake, and it's one of mine too, so I am always happy to make it.
Melissa is turning 33, and my new way of doing candles for adults is to add the two numbers together, so 3 plus 3 equals 6. She got them all with one breath, so hopefully she made a good wish. She might have had a little help from the kids.
Opening the card and finding
a gift card for Ross! It's Melissa's favorite place to shop for clothes and what lady doesn't love new clothes! Have fun getting some new things!
We all love to chime (well, most of us anyway, some of my boys do not) and it's kind of sad to only chime at Christmas, so I had this idea we could chime the "Happy Birthday" song and a few others when we celebrate birthdays. I bought two new books, one of favorite kids songs and one of Primary songs.
The kids are getting big enough that they are actually pretty good at it, and we sounded excellent!
Britta isn't here to conduct for us, so Melissa gave it a try. It takes some good coordination to stay on the right number and hold the baton so the chimers can still see the number. She did a great job and we had fun.
Happy Birthday Melissa! She is such a great wife and mother, she likes to sew, garden, and be outside. I love spending time with her and we get together often. Have a great year Melissa!
