Ryan's birthday, Easter, and General Conference are all today!! That's a lot to celebrate! Most of Britta's and Ryan's friends in Logan are going home for the weekend, many of them are from Utah and so it's not too far to drive. Britta wanted to make it a fun birthday for Ryan since it's his first birthday away from home. (Not that birthdays at home are super fun....)
They went to the Provo area on Saturday after the first session of conference. Ryan went rock climbing with Allie, a girl from Golden, Colorado that he met last summer at home. He spent the night with Britta's friend Kade, and the next morning they drove to South Jordan to watch conference with Kade's family. Kade's mom made some amazing waffles that I have heard Britta rave about before. After the morning session of conference Ryan played basketball with Kade's two younger brothers.
Then Britta, Ryan, and Kade went to Denya's for the afternoon session of conference. Denya had offered to make dinner for them. They had poppy seed chicken, green beans and carrots, and cheddar biscuits.
Root Beer cupcakes! A new recipe, sounds good! It was okay, but nobody loved it. Ryan said this was one of his best birthdays, so Britta was successful in her planning.
Happy Birthday Ryan! You are thoughtful and kind, dependable, hard working, responsible, and fun. I'm happy and proud to be his Mom!
