Palmer Reunion

We always get the first breakfast at the Palmer reunion. Denya and Ryan had pancake duty and they turned out pretty tasty!

Good thing BJ is willing to jump in and help Delwyn make the omelets since I'm not very good at them. Mine just turn into scrambled eggs. Wade started this tradition of making individualized omelets a few years ago and everyone loved them, so now we have to keep it up. We also had hash brown that we baked in the house. That was my contribution.

Karalee always has such fun things planned for us to do. We are making aprons out of old jeans! She had all the supplies and had made all the trim in such cute colors and patterns. All we had to do was sew the trim and pocket on. She had two sewing machines set up and so it went pretty fast.

Karalee had a lot of aprons already cut out, but Britnee worked on a few more.

Denya and I model our aprons! They are so fun to make and turn out so cute! Denya and I both used red trim, but the pattern is different. I'm going to send this apron to Britta on her mission for her birthday. Hopefully she will feel like part of the reunion came to her since she couldn't be here. They don't get a lot of member meals in Sweden and so they cook a lot of their own meals. An apron was on her list of things to bring, so now she can have two!

The teenagers went down the hill goofed around.

Tammy is always working on a afghan for someone. She does beautiful work and is making them for all the younger kids. Claire will up for one soon! Tammy and Wayne are celebrating their anniversary this weekend!

Of course the teenagers got into a water fight. Cole has the upper hand with the hose.

Carson and Ryan had strainers. I'm not sure what they were doing with them. They aren't much good for water fights, so I guess they decided to use them as hats. Silly boys!

Fun times with the cousins! I'm not sure I'd trust these boys to keep me dry.

Everyone was soaked, but there was a lot of love going around too! I'm glad these cousins have such good relationships with each other. 

For some reason, Jenna missed out on the water fight. Jacee and Kaylee didn't want her to feel left out, so they gave her the biggest, wettest hug ever!



After getting somewhat dried out, it was on to a game of spoons.



Who will be the fastest when it comes time to grab a spoon?



This game is called Speak Out. There is a mouthpiece that holds your mouth open and you say a common phrase and your team tries to guess what you are saying.



Ryan's turn! Kaylee helped him to get the mouthpiece in correctly.



I played this game in Utah, and it's hard! It's hard to talk with your mouth so wide open. And of course there's lots of laughing because people sound so silly and most times the talker wonders why it takes the guessers so long to figure out what they are saying. And sometimes they can't figure it out!




Gage was next. The girls were smart and only wanted to guess. They didn't want to make fools of themselves. Haha.



Blair's family was in charge of lunch, and look at these great cooks! Nachos with chili and cheese are on the menu. Yum!



The little girls love to color! Everyone has so much fun together!

Saturday's breakfast is Swedish pancakes! Everyone was wearing their aprons from yesterday--so cute and so fun!!

Eric has a new grill, and what a monster it is! He can cook 5 pounds of a bacon at one time! Super impressive!



Lezlie always has the cutest ideas! We are each making a quilt block with our hand prints and names,



and then Lezlie is going to make it into a quilt for the raffle next year! Everyone is going to want that! What a keepsake!



The blocks are laid out in the sun to dry. What a collection!

And someone had the idea to make a block for Britta and Kyler! That definitely touched my heart!



Friendship bracelet making was another fun activity. Britnee had cut some circles out of cardboard that made it so easy to braid without the thread getting twisted. Genius!



Keri had her snow cone making machine again. The perfect treat for a hot day!



So many flavors to choose from! Ryan had to sample a few before deciding on pina colada.





Izzy and Norma loved to stir their snow cones and then they ate them right up!



Bryan's girls are so cute and friendly and they love their Aunt Brynn.



Denya and Alyssa became good friends. Denya made her a friendship bracelet and Alyssa told Denya about their cat and about school.

Blair is always driving around on his 3 wheeler, going back and forth to his house or out to the field to work. He is one of the busiest, hard working people I know. Farming, working at Thiokol, Stake Young Men's President, spending time with his kids. He is always on the go and I never see him sitting down.

Karalee and Doug made Polynesian chicken in dutch ovens. They also made cobblers. What a yummy dinner! Everything tastes better when it's made in a dutch oven!

Cael is getting so grown up! Because we only see them once a year it seems like they should still be little. I think he is 11 and is growing up to be so handsome!

Ryan didn't want to smile, so Kaylee helped him.

Time for the raffle! One of the highlights of the reunion--to see what you will win this year. Norma is so cute sitting with her Grandma Maureen and Grandpa Boyd.

Everyone has their tickets ready and is hoping to win lots of fun things!

Natalie and Alan are adopting another baby in November. So exciting! Hope all goes smoothly for them.

The raffle is getting so big is takes a couple of hours to get it done, but the time passes quickly because there are so many fun things to win. Kelli calls out the numbers. She is a great MC, making little jokes and laughing a lot.

It cools down quickly when evening comes, and these kids are ready with a cozy blanket.

I was quite excited to win some dish cloths knitted by Lezlie. I need some new ones and once you have used these, you'll never want store bought ones again.

Monday morning I was emailing Britta and Britnee was emailing Kyler. We decided to take a few pictures and send to our missionaries, so this was one of them with all of us waving hello.

Blair got the horses out Monday morning, so Denya and Ryan wanted a ride. It's been awhile since they rode a horse, but they thoroughly enjoyed it.

Look at that trotting horse and rider! In case you thought he was a city boy, he's got this horse business down.

Another Palmer reunion is in the books! We can always expect good company, good food, fun crafts and activities. I'm sure Grandpa and Grandma Palmer are bursting with pride over their wonderful posterity. One of my biggest blessings was marrying into such a great family. They are so loving and accepting and have been so good to me over the years.
